The Yenisey Siberia Research and Development Digest was presented as part of the online expert session that was held on 28 July. The Digest developers presented to the experts the opportunities of the scientific and educational institutions of the Yenisey Siberia and the promising technologies available to companies today. The discussions were attended by the heads of the higher education institutions of the Yenisey Siberia regions, representatives of the companies interested in the latest achievements of science and the experts from the science and education industry.
The Digest encompasses the promising technologies expected to shape the future of industrial production in the key industries of Yenisey Siberia: oil and gas, coal, timber industries, metallurgy and agribusiness. These technologies have been deeply elaborated on to be prepared for implementation at the operating production sites. For example, they include solutions for the safe production, refinement, storage and transportation of coal in the Siberian climate, technologies for reinforcement and strengthening of non-ferrous metallurgy plants and buildings in the subarctic zone, technologies for the protection of forests from pests, timber processing and new material production technologies, real-time environment pollution monitoring technologies. Altogether, the Digest encompasses over 200 developments and researches.
"Industry cannot be developed and new technologies cannot be implemented without a modern scientific foundation. The Yenisey Siberia regions are the concentration point for Russia's strongest scientific centres that ensure the sustainable development of the territory. Efficient cooperation between businesses and R&D institutions is a way of solving the most complicated production challenges," emphasized Director General of Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergei Ladyzhenko.
The Digest also includes the interdisciplinary sector with promising studies in the sphere of medicine, economy, pedagogy, production technologies, etc., as well as environmental protection and infrastructure development. It presents the details of the Yenisey Siberia science and education sector, listing the main activity domains of the 9 top universities of Krasnoyarsk Region, the Republic of Tyva and the Republic of Khakassia.
The experts remarked the conciseness and informative value of the Digest and made some suggestions for improvement. The Head of the Science and Innovative Activities Department of Siberian Federal University Vladimir Kazakov suggested continuing the work on the Digest, and, particularly, thinking over the frequency of the issue releases; the Vice-Rector for Research and Development of Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology Anton Vlasov highlighted that the Digest also needs to present the projects of monitoring the implementation of new technologies.
As a result of the discussion, it was decided to hold a number of strategic sessions with the Yenisey Siberia CIP Investors in the nearest future to discuss the applicability of the concepts presented in the Digest.
